Nicolás Maduro assures that the humanitarian aid that Juan Guaidó seeks to enter Venezuela on Saturday is the beginning of a military action to overthrow him, led by the United States
United Nations. The secretary general of the UN urged on Friday the regime of Nicolás Maduro to "not use lethal force against demonstrators", on the eve of the deadline imposed by the president in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, for the entry of foreign humanitarian aid to the country .
Guaidó, leader of the Venezuelan National Assembly and recognized by the United States and half a hundred countries as interim president of Venezuela, assures that foreign humanitarian aid will enter this Saturday to Venezuela, whatever the cost.
Maduro, supported by Russia, rejects the aid and assures that this is the beginning of a military action to overthrow him, led by the United States.
"The secretary general urged the Venezuelan authorities not to use lethal force against the demonstrators," Antonio Guterres's office said in a statement.
Guterres said the UN "will continue to act according to the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence, working with Venezuelan institutions to assist people in need."
