The worm supermoon will coincide with the March equinox
This Wednesday, the moon will appear 30% brighter and 14% larger than usual.
This week you can see the worm supermoon, the third and last phenomenon of this type that we will appreciate this year, at 01:43 UTC: on the night of March 20 in the Western Hemisphere and at dawn on March 21 in the east, informs EarthSky.
It is so named because in the northern hemisphere of the planet ends the winter, the soil thaws and earthworms begin to appear on the earth.
Native Americans would have established this name because they used our satellite as a reference for seasonal changes.
The event will happen a few hours after the arrival of the equinox - with which it did not coincide since 2000 - and will not happen again almost simultaneously until 2030.
